Okay, so everyone seems to be hailing Lily Allen’s new song as a feminist anthem and if you wanna do that then that’s cool whatever it’s not for me to decide. But if you want a feminist song/video tackling misogyny and racism then you should definitely watch and listen to That’s Alright by Laura Mvula. Not only is it a good, catchy, singalong song that tells you it’s okay to be who you are, but the video itself demonstrates how black people in the media and entertainment industries are used as props, simple entertainment for white people.
I especially like when she gets to the chorus and she’s singing “Who made you the centre of the universe?” at the all-white audience. A really brilliant yet underrated song and video.
I LOVE HER SOUND
LITERALLY FROM THE FIRST NOTE
This is my jam!

I DID IT… I finished the fan video! Some of the editing isn’t as clean as I’d hoped, but it still came out pretty swell overall. I’d recommend watching in HD and with headphones!
Everybody stop what you’re doing and WATCH THIS RIGHT NOW
AND PREPARE TO BE LEFT SPEECHLESS
THIS IS REALLY REALLY WELL DONE.

Scientists and music professors at Cambridge University came together to find a song that introduces the strongest fight or flight reaction of any song. They went through thousands and thousands of musical pieces and composers and tested these songs on hundreds of different people. After 7 years of research and observation, they finally found a song which made 94.7% of listeners surge with adrenaline, so much so that the riot that ensued caused billions of dollars worth of damages to the surrounding area. Listen at your own risk.
